ABC Baby Classes

Class guidelines

These classes are for the enjoyment of parents and babies; nobody need feel that they have to do anything that they are not happy about.

group

There are plenty of alternatives and the aim of the class is to have parents and babies that are happy, confident and relaxed in the water.

Parents do not need to be able to swim.

Babies are welcome from 8 weeks, you can prepare your baby for the swimming pool by taking them in the big bath with you at home, holding them in the water as if they were floating on their backs, singing to them and sprinkling water over them also helps.

1.) Babies MUST wear swimming nappies, for the very small I recommend the Happy Nappy (available for sale from your teacher) as this nappy fits snugly round both the legs and waist.

2.) Please bring a big towel to the poolside for your baby to use immediately when they get out of the pool as getting warm and dry is very important.

3.) Please shower before entering the pool

4.) Please take nappies home with you, not all venues have facilities for their disposal

5.) It is a good idea to bring a feed or snack for the baby for after the class,

6.) Except in the very hottest of weather baby should wear a hat for the journey home

7.) Don’t bring babies in the water if they have a heavy cold, tummy upset, infection or temperature

8.) If your baby is sick in the pool or filled their nappy please tell me immediately

9.) If you need to leave during the course of the lesson please tell me

10.) Depending on the age and size babies may only be in the water for 10-15 minutes for the first few classes

11.) Safety is obviously a prime concern so it is important that you listen carefully and follow all safety instructions

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT POOLSIDES CAN BE VERY SLIPPERY WHEN WET

PARENTS ARE RESPOSIBLE FOR THEIR BABIES AT ALL TIMES
