ABC Baby Classes

ABC Baby Classes

Costs and Booking

Set Courses
Our classes run in courses of 12 weeks; usually six lessons during the first half and six in the second half of one term, following the school term timetable. Therefore we take breaks during Christmas, Easter, summer and the half term holidays. Occasionally we run short three day courses during the summer holidays, if there is demand for classes over the summer holidays. Each class is half an hour. Although we run courses this does not mean you have to start at the beginning of a course, our courses are consecutive and follow the progression of each child and therefore if there is space in a class you can join at any point in the term and fees are pro rated.

Classes are paid for in advance generally for the full term but do enquire if you would prefer to pay in instalments as we can accommodate most requests, for further price specific details please contact us.

Private classes
If you have use of a family swimming pool then we can often run private classes for either yourself on a one to one basis or with a group of your friends. These would be half hour classes, please enquire direct for private class fees.

At home
Before your baby is old enough to start swimming classes (at 8 weeks) we offer an introduction to get you feeling more confident and happy about supporting your child in water. These sessions take place in the bathtub your own home; activities such as floating, singing, introduction to submersion using a watering can are just a few techniques we introduce. Most would need just one session to get you going but if you would prefer more it is up to you. Please enquire for cost per session.

Set Courses
If you have more than one child attending our classes, either baby or junior then the first child pays the full fee and any further child receives a 15% discount on the course.

Private and at home
If you book course of six weeks then you will get six classes for the price of five

Cancellation If you give 5 days notice of cancellation of your place before the term begins we shall refund your money. We are unable to refund after this date but can carry the  payment forward to a future term or a later start date. Only in exceptional circumstances, at the sole discretion of ABC, a cancellation may lead to a refund.

Sickness If your child is sick you do not need to telephone if they are to miss a week or two. If it is likely to be longer, please let us know. Credits for long-term illnesses are given at our discretion. Please do not let your child swim if there are any signs of stomach upset and sickness in the family.

Nappies Babies and toddler who are not 100% toilet trained must wear a correct fitting swim nappy.  We strongly recommend the leak proof Splash About “Happy Nappy” (available for sale from your teacher).  If your baby is not wearing a properly fitting swim nappy you will be refused entry to the pool.  Considerable disruption and cost is caused when classes have to be cancelled due to accidents.

Safety is at all times our paramount concern.  However, ABC will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury that may occur whilst on school premises.

Staff All staff are qualified and experienced swimming teachers and hold relevant ASA/STA certificate(s). As some physical contact with each swimmer is unavoidable all staff adhere to the ASA/STA Child Protection Procedures.

Pool closures On rare occasions lessons are cancelled.  If one lesson is cancelled, for whatever reason, we will endeavour to reschedule the class if this is not possible it will be deemed ‘lost’. If two or more lessons are cancelled credits will be given for the next course you book.  No refunds are given. See also cancellations.
